Well said. BTW, sorry to hear you don't like DC. I also moved there from Canada back in June 1985 and fell in love with the place. I was the only one who stayed, though. Every other Canadian I came with (there were six of us) eventually moved back north. I lived in McLean Gardens and in Fairlington for a year before finally staying on North Jackson Street in Arlington. I am now in NYC. I stock up on Smarties, Coffee Crisps, Cherry Blossoms, and Crispy Crunch bars whenever I visit Canada ;)
My husband has ME/CFS, and has had for many years. He was officially diagnosed in 2011, but has been ill since I have known him. Against all common sense, we decided to have a child. We struggle to maintain a normal existence while dealing with his illness...it touches all aspects of our lives and informs just about every minute of every day. Yet some of the people closest to us still don't believe that my husband is severely ill, don't believe the illness is "real." This blog is an attempt to mitigate that belief.
